Arcall: Web 2.0 tools to enhance learning

Last month we discussed how to use Word clouds in our daily teaching. This month be ready to explore different Web 2.0 tools to enhance our learning. The idea is to explore how to use Voki, Glogster and Fotobabble in our classroom.

Week 1: Exploring Web 2.0 tools for Visual Learners

Objectives

By the end of this week you will have:

    • explored how to create your personal avatar
    • created your own avatar
    • commented on the different Voki´s created by other participants
    • explored the pegagocial benefits of using this tool in your classroom.

Activities

  • Create your o wn Voki following the instruction in the following slideshare and explore all the different features available.

Week 2 and 3: Exploring Web 2.0 for Kinesthetic learners

As there are so many different possibilities and features to explore we will devote 2 weeks to learn how to use EduGlogster in our classrooms.

Objectives

By the end of third week you will have:

    • explored the different features availible in Eduglogster.
    • created your own Eduglogter.
    • Add voice and videos to your Eduglogster.
    • commented on the different Eduglogster´s created by other participants
    • explored the pegagocial benefits of using this tool in your classroom.

  • Explore the different way teachers are using this tool in their classroom

- Promote students and school events, fundraisers etc. Example:Our school blogs

- After class reflection activity. Example: ICT class reflection

Week 4: Exploring Web 2.0 tools for Auditory learners

Fotobabble

Objectives

By the end of third week you will have:

    • created your own Fotobabble.
    • commented on the different Fotobabble´s created by other participants
    • explored the pegagocial benefits of using this tool in your classroom

Activities

  • Create your own Fotobabble. No tutorials are needed. On the website, simply upload a photo, and then click the record button to record your voice.
