Talking Avatars
What is an Avatar?
An avatar is a computer user’s representation of himself/herself or alter ego,[citation needed] whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games,a two-dimensional icon (picture). Source: Wikipedia
I would use it with Middle 1 students. These are 3D Avatars. I have just created a postcard where the avatars can speak. You can add video, sound, text to speech and even animate our text. Students can create a character, digital you , 3D Greeting cards, slideshows, vacation postcards, commentaries and animated shows. It is easy to embed your productions. Take a look at my first 3D animated postcard
- Blabberize (manipulate the mouth on any photo and make it talk!) Using this tool to make students talk about their daily routines. http://blabberize.com/view/id/203699
My students love to create their talking Voki. Unfortunately the computers at school are slow therefore we can`t save their work. Voki is one of the favourite tools for my students. Their imagination is the limit!!!

Both Voki and Blabberize are popular with my student too, they also enjoy Fotobabble.
